Sunk on November 10, 1975, in Lake Superior, in midst of a storm, en route from Superior, Wisconsin to Detroit. All twenty-nine crew members lost. At launch in 1958, the largest ore-carrying ship built on the Great Lakes. Gordon Lightfoot ballad memorialized the sinking.
