Fully rigged ship (nao)-- 3 masts, fore and main square-rigged, mizzen carried a lateen sail -- chartered by Columbus as his flagship with his own funds for his first voyage in 1492; built in Galicia, Spain; ship's owner, Juan de la Cosa, served as master; Went aground in West Indies and was abandoned.
